Voyagers Senior Adult Ministry

Vision  

We exist as a team of people over fifty-five, organized to serve others spiritually and to provide them with caring hands-on assistance.  Our fellowship is designed to appeal to a diversity of interests, encouraging us to grow closer to each other and to Christ.

Ministry Description

VOYAGERS - A Ministry of Care, Service & Fellowship

The Care Team is the heartbeat of this new ministry, specially trained to visit older people in the church and identify needs. Eventually, this team will be expanded to assist other ministries within Bethel, in our community, and in the world.

Special training and other requirements such as Bethel membership are required for the Care Team. Please see the Application for the other requirements. If you are interested in serving on this team, please complete the Application (download Word file attached below) and email it to voyagers@mybethel.com. If you prefer, you may print out the Application (print PDF file attached below) and submit it in an envelope to the Church office. We will review your application and respond with further information. Please allow a week for the completion of this process.  If you are already a Care Team member and need to fill out your Voyager Care Team Assignment sheet, scroll to the bottom of this site, click on that attachment, fill it out and send it to one of the addresses at the bottom of the document.

The Service Teams are assembled to help fulfill needs as revealed by the Care Team. They are hands-on laborers providing handy-man repairs, lawn care, meals, house cleaning, transportation, car repair guidance, and other services.

The Fellowship Teams plan and execute activities to promote friendship, fun and growth. A Voyagers get-together is held on the third Thursday of alternating months from 10:00 am - Noon, to enjoy a program and either brunch or lunch. Voyagers also meet in the evenings on alternate months for social get-togethers, game nights, dining adventures, and much more. In addition to monthly events, some special trips are planned throughout the year.
