Generosity 2018

Disaster Relief

With our hemisphere getting hit so hard by so many disasters, we wanted to do something to give towards those hurting and in need. For our Generosity Project 2018, we have decided to focus our giving towards those struck by the hurricanes in Houston, Texas and in Puerto Rico, as well as those impacted by the earthquake in southern Mexico. Money designated to Generosity Project 2018 will go through Converge Worldwide to Mexico, Converge Southeast to Puerto Rico, and Converge Southwest to Houston, Texas. These funds will also support the short-term mission teams from Bethel who will be traveling to Houston in the Summer of 2018.

OUR GOAL

Raise $40,000 for these projects.

Giving begins on November 26th, and will continue throughout 2018, with our goal of reaching $40,000. Please designate “Generosity” on your check or envelope.

Houston Texas Details

In an unprecedented time of need, our pastors and church planters have a unique opportunity touch the lives of people looking for hope. Relief efforts through Converge Southwest are focused on clean-up, repair, and recovery efforts to homes of pastors and churches in the Houston Church Planting Network. Already, support and teams from around country have begun to help in this effort, and we look forward to partnering with them, both with money, and teams traveling to Houston in the summer of 2018. There will be more details about these teams as we get closer to the summer.

Puerto Rico Details

The island-wide destruction of housing, infrastructure, and the economy has left the citizens of Puerto Rico devastated. Converge Southeast's efforts have been largely designated to helping both local and visiting pastors provide even basic needs of food and water, as well as beginning to gather repair supplies. We hope to help in any small way we can.

Mexico Details

The 8.2 Richter scale earthquake that shook the Mexican states of Oaxaca and Chiapas left catastrophic damage. Our missionaries Eric and Janet Johnson are connecting with local churches to help ascertain and distribute supplies to those with the greatest needs. Currently, the most pressing concerns are for shelter, health care, food, and clean water. Help us send support their way.
